Saya has been belly dancing since 2001 and professionally since 2005. She enjoys all styles of belly dance, from Tribal to Folkloric to Cabaret and everything in the middle. She also enjoys choreographing troupe and solo routines incorporating all styles of music and dance.

Mahsati is a mysterious belly dancer and choreographer from the land of fire! Her true identity is known only to her Sisters in Dance...The mystique surrounding the ancient dancers lives and reigns in Mahsati who is sure to capture your heart with her beautiful dance.




Ghaleena

Ghaleena

Looking for an outlet to be something more than a stay-at-home Mom, "retired" environmental scientist, and homemaker, Ghaleena took a belly dancing class early in 2006. She was immediately drawn to the dance, the culture, the costumes, the workout, and especially, the people. Ghaleena has received most of her formal instruction from Memie-Ayat and Jessi, and feels joyful and empowered when dancing for the general public or hosting Belly Dance parties for women or young girls. Her Troupe is now her tribe, and they are some of her dearest friends. Ghaleena can not imagine her life without them or without belly dancing. She has found a home with her Sisters In Dance!


Cori Dilshad

Cori Dilshad has been dancing for several years. She enjoys exploring all forms of the dance. She also has become very active in teaching self confidence and love of self through the dance to the younger generations. Cori began her dancing instruction with Memie-Ayat and continues under the guidance, joy, and patience of Dorothea.


Khandi

Khandi

Khandi began studying belly dance in the fall of 1986 with Brendina of Salem until the teacher's retirement in 1988. After a long hiatus from dancing, she continued her studies with Memie-Ayat. Khandi takes workshops from many teachers to advance her skills in the art form. She is also a primary assistant teacher to Memie-Ayat.








Tatiana

Tatiana has been dancing since 2006 and has taken classes from Memie-Ayat and Jessi; as well as Advanced belly dance with Svetlana Robetskaya and "Raks Dramatique" workshops with Aepril Schaili. Growing up in Russia, she was always interested in dances of all types, but became interested in belly dancing after several trips to Turkey. Tatiana is a licensed esthetician and, just like her career in beauty, she strives to bring the beauty out in her dancing. Tatiana also performs as a soloist, incorporating her Russian culture into her Gypsy skirt dance.

Christine

Christine was always interested in belly dancing. She was taken by the beauty of the dance and music. As a busy mom, Christine needed something for herself. She has studied with Memie-Ayat and Jessi. She is a self titled "dance mom" with three competitive dancers at home. Their love and excitement for dance has inspired her and given her the confidence to pursue belly dancing. Christine feels blessed to have met and to be a part of this amazing sisterhood.




Lori

Approximately three years ago, Lori started dancing as a student of Memie-Ayat for exercise and fun. She took additional classes with Jessi. Through her love of dancing she has met and become friends with an amazing group of women who are now her Sisters In Dance.

Gidget, the belly dancing surfer girl, was introduced to the world of belly dance and inspired by watching a performance by Lotus Moon in 2005. Since then she has not been able to stop dancing. She has been a student of Memie-Ayat since Sept 2005 and has danced with Serpentribe. Gidget has a unique style of her own where she blends intense earth, tribal energy with light and airy disposition.






Leanne

Leanne has been belly dancing for about three and a half years. She has studied dance of different kinds throughout her childhood and was instantly hooked on belly dance. She enjoys the feel of the dance and the music. She is currently enjoying dancing with Sisters In Dance and has made friends for life. Her license in cosmetology assures that the troupe has someone to go to for hair or makeup. She looks forward to many years of dancing.
